Roster guardrail rules

Every warning and blocking rule the schedule checks, what triggers it, and how to override or fix it.

The schedule checks these rules on every change, on the device, and again on the server when you publish. Warnings can be overridden with a reason; blocking issues cannot.

Blocking rules

RuleTriggerFix
Expired foreign-worker permitThe person's permit expiry is before the shift dateRecord the renewed permit under Team › Compliance, or roster someone else
Missing or expired food-handler certificateA food-contact station and no valid food-handler training or anti-typhoid recordRecord the certificate under Team › Training & certs
Blocked certification gapThe station requires a certification the person lacksAssign training or roster someone qualified

Warning rules

RuleTrigger

Shift overhoursA single shift longer thanhours including breaks
Week overhoursTotal rostered hours in the week exceed 55

Cross-outlet floatThe person is rostered at an outlet other than their home outlet

Overriding a warning

Open the cell, choose Override, type the reason, and tick Employee agreed. The override is stored with the shift and shown on the published roster.

Coverage and cost

Under each day the roster shows coverage against the minimum staffing you set and, with analytics access, scheduled labour cost against same-day sales. Labour above 32% of sales is shown in red. These are informational, not blocking.

Scope

These rules reflect the Employment Actas amended infor Peninsular Malaysia and Labuan. Sabah and Sarawak differ; outlets there see a banner rather than a wrong number. The rules help you comply; they do not replace your HR adviser.
