Reconcile the till and prepare a deposit
Work till variances, safe counts and deposits from the cash reconciliation board, log a counterfeit note, and export the variance list.
Cash reconciliation lives under Security because it is a control, not a bookkeeping task. This guide works the four tabs.
Before you start: a loss-prevention or finance role for the outlet. Finance can view everything but cannot clear an exception.
Till variances
- Open Security › Cash reconciliation › Till variances.
- Each row is a cash session whose blind count differed from the expected cash. Open it to see both counts and any recount.
- Record the drawer count review and move the row to its next status. A variance above the threshold also appears in the exception queue.
Deposits
- On Deposits, choose Prepare deposit for the day's cash. Enter the bag and seal identity and the witness.
- When the bank statement line is recorded, choose Verify deposit to match it. A deposit that does not match stays open with the difference shown.
Safe counts
Record a safe count at the start and end of the day. A count that does not agree with the expected balance can raise a finding directly from the row.
Counterfeit log
Log a counterfeit note with the denomination, the session and what was done with the note. The entry feeds the exception queue.
Export
Choose Export CSV for the period's variances. The file lands in Exports with its redaction summary.
