Trace a number in the audit explorer

Follow any figure back to the entry that produced it, filter the audit trail by domain, actor and event, and read a command's before and after.

Every figure in ChowChirp is a link. This guide follows one back to its source and shows how to search the trail directly.

Before you start: any login. You can trace only what your role can read.

Drill down from a figure

  1. On any screen, click a number or a status pill. It opens the rows that make it up.
  2. Click a row. It opens the record: the bill, the count, the shift, the reading.
  3. On the record, open the audit popover. It shows who did what, when, and the values before and after.

Three clicks usually end at a photo, a count or a person's name.

Search the trail

  1. Open Today and scroll to the Recent audit explorer, or open Settings › Audit for account and access events.
  2. Filter by domain (for example Stock or Finance), actor and event.
  3. Open an entry to see the command, its details and the records it changed.

What the trail guarantees

  • Entries are append-only. A correction adds a new entry with a reference to the old one. Nothing is edited in place.
  • Every write records the actor, the time and a command reference.
  • Views of identity numbers and exports of people are recorded as reads.
